Dhubri Police have arrested four dacoits, who were involved in several cases of dacoity and created a lot of fear among the common people in the last couple of months.

The arrested most wanted dacoists have been identified as Asad Mondal, a resident of Mayar Char-V; Sarbesh Ali, a resident of Boyjar Alga Part-III and Rafijul Hoque of Tamakubari Part-I village under Bilasipara police station of Dhubri district.

Dhubri superintendent of police Anand Mishra said, “A total of four dacoits along with one Nakkatta, another most wanted criminal, involved in multiple heinous crimes, have been arrested by our special team.”

A few months back, Nakkata’s accomplice Shah Alom was killed in an encounter when he opened fire at the police, said Mishra.

In another incident, Dhubri Police during a special drive against illegal activities arrested three drug paddlers from the Chapar area.

During the drive, the police rescued 25 cattle heads under Tamarhat police station, seized huge consignments of rice allotted for public distribution system ((PDS) along with a boat at Suapata Part-III village under Salkicha police outpost in Dhubri district.

Superintendent of police Mishra twitted: “The Hunt is on against all individuals and gangs involved in organized Criminal Activities. The List is Long but getting shortened at a very fast rate !!
