Dhubri Police on Saturday arrested four drug suppliers along with contraband tablets and brown sugar during two separate operations.

Two of the drug suppliers have been identified as Nayab Ali Sk, Surat Ali of Nalia, who were arrested during an operation, led by the officer-in-charge of Golakganj police station.

They were caught with 5,000 contraband tablets, said Dhubri Police on its Twitter handle.

The two other arrested drug suppliers have been identified as Noorjamal Haque of Kismat Hazda-II and Bulbul Haque of Dharmasala.

They were arrested with brown sugar during an operation led by the officer-in-charge of Dhubri Sadar PS.

Acting on a tip-off, Noorjamal Haque and Bulbul Haque were arrested during a naka checking near Sagalsara area under Dhubri sadar police station.

The police team was led by Dhubri Sadar police station officer Mukul Hazarika, accompanied by sub-inspector Bhagya Deka.

During the operation, a bike bearing registration no AS17-G-7128 was seized.

On further search, the police recovered 30 gm of brown sugar, which were found in 8 small containers, from the possession of the two bikers.

The duo was arrested on the spot, said police adding that a case (no 1674/2020) has been registered at Dhubri Sadar police station under section 22(C) of NDPS Act and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
