The cargo was cleared from the blockade of the demonstrators as police arrested the protesting AJYCP activists at 2:00 am on Wednesday.

However, the arrested AJYCP activists were released later on Wednesday.

NHPC chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) Abhay Kumar Singh told Sanjiv Nandan Sahai, the Union power secretary, during his visit to the project site on December 4 that the Lower Subansiri Hydro Electric Project would be completed by 2022.

Sahay visited the hydroelectric project along with Arunachal Project chief secretary Naresh Kumar, NHPC CMD A.K. Singh, central government’s joint secretary to power, Tanmay Kumar and P.S. Lokhande, commissioner (power), Arunachal Pradesh.

The Union power secretary visited all the sites of the LSHEP and took stock of the progress of the ongoing construction activities and he inaugurated the re-start of powerhouse works.

Sahay also attended an exhibition organised by farmer-producer companies registered for livelihood interventions initiated by NHPC in the field of piggery, sericulture and handloom.
