In a surprising case a patient from Delhi arrived in Silchar after he failed to get proper treatment in the state capital on account of the huge rush of Covid-19 patients.

The patient was brought by air ambulance to the Green Hills Private Hospital in Silchar.

This is the first instance where a patient from a metropolitan city has been flown to the Barak Valley for better treatment.

The 74 year old lady was reportedly suffering from dementia and her condition was worsening.

When her family tried to get her admitted in hospital in Delhi, they could not find any bed due to the overwhelming rush of Covid-19 patients.

When they consulted doctors, they were advised to keep the lady at home.

However, she suffered from brain stroke and the family immediately contacted a relative at Silchar, who is also a doctor.

The relative advised them to air-lift the patient and bring her to Silchar for immediate treatment.

The patient was eventually flown in to the private hospital at Silchar on Friday.

“The patient was flown into our hospital on Friday. Doctors here are trying their best to provide the best possible treatment to her. Currently her condition is said to be stable,” said Rudra Narayan Gupta, managing director of the Green Hills Hospital.
