Assam’s Gongutri Bordoloi on Monday won the second gold medal for the state in the cycling event in the ongoing 3rd Khelo India Youth Games.

She won the gold medal in the Girls U-21 Individual Road Race Cycling event on Monday.

Meanwhile, another girl of the state Chayanika Gogoi bagged a bronze medal in the same event.

Assam’s medal tally in the Games till now is eight – two gold, two silver and four bronze.

Pooja Basumatary won the first gold medal for Assam in Girl’s Under-17 57kg category in the judo event in the ongoing 3rd Khelo India Youth Games.

Among the northeastern states, Tripura is leading with a total of 5 medals including four gold and one silver, followed by Manipur with a total of 10 medals including two gold, one silver, and seven bronze.

Mizoram has so far gathered only one gold medal in the Khelo India Youth Games 2020.

The rest of the northeastern states – Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Sikkim- have not yet got a single medal till now.
