Dr S Lakshmanan said this in an orientation meeting on ‘i-help’ held on Wednesday at the Sukafa Conference Hall of the deputy commissioner’s office.

While elaborating on the ‘i-help’ initiative launched by the Chief Electoral Officer, Assam, Mukesh Sahu, on March 17 last at Janata Bhawan, the deputy commissioner said that this initiative is aimed at promoting digital literacy.

“In this age of transition to the digital world, the Common Service Centres (CSCs) can play a vital role in educating the people on the usage of IT-enabled services related to election, and thus making the transition smoother. Their active participation will help in making the election process more inclusive and participatory,” he said.
