With the detection of 1,188 new cases and 2,198 recoveries in the last 24 hours, Assam’s total COVID19 tally including 30,767 active cases increased to 1,91,397.
With the demise of 9 more patients in the last 24 hours, Assam’s COVID19 death toll increased to 794.
According to the data shared by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, 2,198 more patients were discharged on Thursday and more than 2,000 recovered patients have been sent to their families in the state for the second consecutive day.
“Discharge Alert. 2198 patients discharged today ~ more than 2000 recovered patients sent to their families in #Assam for the 2nd consecutive day. Good work medical team,” health minister Sarma tweeted on his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status.
A total of 1,59,833 patients have been discharged in Assam so far and the state currently has 30,767 active cases.

On Thursday, 1,188 COVID19 cases were detected out of 32,408 tests, health minister Sarma informed.
Assam’s positivity rate on Thursday was 3.67%.
Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro reported 232 and Jorhat reported 111 cases.
Assam recorded 9 more COVID19 deaths on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Dibya Ranjan Chutia (62), who died at Dibrugarh; Khanindra Talukdar (71) of Kamrup Metro; Barnali Saikia (35) of Lakhimpur; Buparam Saikia (79) of Majuli; Dilip Das (39) of Golaghat; DUD Kumud Dutta (75) of Jorhat; Arjun Prosad Sonar (75) of Cachar; Imfar Ali Sheikh (64) of Dhubri and Jatindra Ghosh (82) of Kokrajhar.
