While the total number of COVID19 positive cases detected in Assam stands at 1,03,794, a total of 1,440 other patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, have been discharged from various hospitals across the state in the last 24 hours.
With the release of the 1,440 more patients, the total number of discharged patients in Assam reached 82,510.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status said: “Discharge Alert 1440 discharge today.”
The health minister claimed: “8 out of 10 patients are back home & as we strive to contain the spread, we request that you help our testing drive by volunteering.”
Assam currently has 20,992 active COVID19 patients, who are undergoing treatment in various hospitals.
The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 289 positive patients while 3 cases migrated from the state.
On Saturday, Assam recorded a total of 2,427 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 1,03,794.
Of the total cases, 459 were from Kamrup Metro, 177 from Dibrugarh, 158 from Cachar and 136 from Jorhat.
A total of 36,839 COVID-19 tests were carried out in the state in the last 24 hours.
