On the day when the number of COVID19 positive cases in Assam stood at 11,736, a total of 449 other patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, were discharged from various hospitals across the state on Monday.
Sharing the good news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Monday said Assam has been able to maintain a good recovery rate.
“Discharge Alert. Delighted to share that while cases are increasing, we have been able to maintain a good recovery rate. 449 patients have been discharged today,” health minister Sarma said.
With the release of 449 patients, the total number of discharged COVID19 cases in Assam increased to 7,882 on Monday while the state currently has 3,837 active cases.

The deadly disease has so fart claimed the lives of 14 persons while 3 cases have migrated from the state.
In another tweet, the health minister shared that Assam is fast moving towards the 5 lakh COVID19 testing mark.
“Our testing figures reached 471,221 today. Together we have to win this battle and targeted tracking & testing form the core of our strategy,” Sarma tweeted on Monday.
“Do support our incredibly committed teams, out day & night for testing,” he added.
