With the detection of 642 new positive cases and 12 more deaths in the last 24 hours, Assam’s COVID19 tally rose to 2,00,391 while the death toll mounted to 865 on Saturday.
Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Saturday night said the new cases have been detected out of 23,129 tests.
Sarma said Assam’s positivity rate stood at 2.78% on Saturday.
“642 Cases detected out of 23129 tests conducted, with a positivity rate of 2.78%,” Sarma tweeted.
Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro has reported 149 new cases.
Meanwhile, 818 more patients have been discharged after their recovery from the disease.
While 85.37% of the patients have recovered from the disease, 14.19% of the patients are still active.
Assam currently has 28,442 active COVID19 cases.
The death rate stands at 0.43%.
