Assam recorded 40 more Covid19 deaths and 3,571 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
The news has been confirmed by Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Saturday evening.

While sharing the Covid19 update of Assam, chief minister Sarma in the tweet said the new cases were confirmed out of 1,61,420 tests.
The overall Covid19 positivity percentage on Saturday stood at 2.21%, according to the data shared by the Assam chief minister.
Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro district registered a total of 199 cases.

While 40 more patients lost their lives due to Covid19 infection on Saturday, hundreds of other patients recovered from the disease.
The state’s recovery rate stood at 91.77% on Saturday.
“Summary of 19/6/2021 – Today’s Total 3571; Overall Positivity Percentage (3571 cases out of 1,61,420 test done = 2.21%); Kamrup (M) 199; Death 40; Recovery Rate 91.77%,” chief minister Sarma tweeted.
On Friday, Assam reported a total of 3,706 new Covid19 cases.
The new cases were confirmed out of 1,71,920 tests.
The overall Covid19 positivity rate in Assam stood at 2.16% on Friday.
Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro district on Friday recorded 204 cases.

On Saturday, chief minister Sarma urged the health department to maximise publicity to bring maximum people to vaccination centres.
He also appealed to the NGOs and social organisations, including political workers, to motivate people to take part in the vaccination drive.
The chief minister said all government and private sector employees, including the shopkeepers should come forward for vaccination at the earliest to be able to join their workplaces soon.
The Assam chief minister directed the officials to ensure targeting vulnerable pockets like tea garden as well for vaccination.
