At least 14 new COVID-19 cases have been detected at the Dibrugarh University in Assam.
These new 14 cases at the Dibrugarh University in Assam were detected on Sunday.
Samples of all the 14 COVID positive students are reportedly being sent for whole genome sequencing.
Following detection of the new cases, at least seven girls’ hostels reportedly have been declared as containment zones.
A portion of the university campus has also been declared as a containment zone.

Earlier, at least three African students of the varsity were tested positive for COVID-19.
Notably, COVID-19 cases in Assam have been on the rise.
On Saturday, Assam reported 1254 new COVID-19 cases at a positivity rate of 3.73 percent.
Of the 1254 cases, as many as 472 cases have been detected from in and around Guwahati city.
