Assam Power Minister Topon Kumar Gogoi, announced installation of covered conductors or cables in two elephant corridors near the Kaziranga National Park on Thursday.

Altogether 11km of covered conductors will be installed from the Hatikhuli and tourist feeders near the Kaziranga National Park.

The state government will bear the cost of the installation which will amount to Rs 2.5 crore.

The tendering process is under way and two companies, Apar and Raychem, have been shortlisted to supply the covered conductors, which is state-of-the-art, according to Gogoi.
