The Cotton University team, which represented Assam and the Eastern Zone, won the Red Ribbon Online Quiz Competition on HIV/AIDS.

The national online quiz competition on Tuesday was organized by the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) coinciding with the National Youth Day-2021.

The team comprised Plawan Sarma and Raktim Ranjan Baishya from Cotton University.

Earlier, the Cotton University team won the zonal level quiz competition and state-level competition that was organized by the Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS).

This was followed by a win by the team at the Regional-level Online Competition in the Eastern Zone, which was held on January 8 last.

In a tough fight, the Cotton University team was able to win the national competition by scoring 150 points.

The team from Assam defeated the team from Rajasthan, which had won the regional competition from the Northern Zone.

The Rajasthan team, which scored 130 points, was adjudged second in the competition.

The team from Daman Diu, the winner of the regional competition from Western Zone, came third by scoring 95 points, followed by the Puducherry team which scored 90 points.

The Puducherry team had won the regional competition in the Southern Zone.

The winning team will receive Rs 1 lakh in cash apart from certificates.
