In view of the detection of COVID-19 positive patient of Kamarchuburi, Ward No-18, Tezpur, Biswajt Bora Path under Tezpur police station and in order to contain the further spread of COVID-19 virus in the area, the Sonitpur district administration has declared the area as containment zone with effect from Monday night.
The area has been sealed by the administration.
The containment zone is surrounded by residence of Nipen Hazarika to the north, residence of Jayanta Talukdar to the east, residence of Arun Kalita to the west and Agnigarh Bidya Path to the South.
There will be a buffer zone of radius five km around the containment zone.

Any unauthorized entry and exit to and from the notified containment zone is barred till the area is declared safe as per guidelines of the MoHFW, Government of India.
Any movement of any unauthorized individual and vehicle within the notified area is also prohibited.
All statutory and other directions regarding maintenance of social distancing will be strictly enforced with immediate effect.
Any violation of the order will attract action under provisions of ‘The Assam COVID-19 Regulation, 2020’,
The Disaster Management Act 2005, The Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 and other relevant laws of the nation.
