Guwahati: A police constable in Jorhat, Assam was arrested on allegations of him sexually assaulting a minor.
The constable identified as Aarohan Phukan was arrested based on a complaint filed by the 16-year-old girl’s parents.

Her parents accused Aarohan of sexually assaulting their daughter when they were not at home.

They also claimed that Aarohan had shared some “obscene” photographs of their daughter on social media.

Following the allegations, the constable was booked under relevant sections of the POCSO Act.
The minor’s mother further alleged that the accused had forced her (the minor) to click a “nude” picture on her phone and send it to him.

This was the alleged picture that was later circulated on social media platforms.
Based on the allegations, Aarohan Phukan was arrested and sent to judicial custody.
Further investigations are being carried out by the police.
