Assam U16 Cricket Team Beats Bangladesh U15 In Final One Day Match, Levels Series 1-1.

Guwahati: The Assam Under-16 cricket team emerged victorious against the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Under-15 squad by securing a convincing six-wicket win in the third and final one-day match played at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Bangladesh’s Rajshahi city on Monday, May 13.

The thrilling encounter marked the culmination of the three-match limited over series ending in a 1-1 draw with the first match being called off due to inclement weather and the second won by the BCB U15 team.

Opting to field first after winning the toss, the Assam U16 bowlers put up a strong show as the visitors bowled the BCB U15 team out for a paltry 123 in 36.5 overs. Spearheading the bowling attack, Rahul Tamuli emerged as the most successful bowler scalping six crucial wickets and conceding 35 runs.

Despite the strong attack by the Assam bowlers, BCB U15 opener Md Abdullah Al Muhi showcased commendable resilience with a knock of 37 runs, supported by Sajidujjaman Oranno’s 30 runs.

In reply, the Assam U16 team showcased exemplary batting skills, chasing the target with ease. With notable contributions with the bat by Julien Konwar and Rahul Tamuli scoring 37 each, and an unbeaten 34 by captain Aman Yadav, the visitors achieved the target in just 25.1 overs.

The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) lauded the young cricketers and the support staff for their stellar performance throughout the Bangladesh tour. Prior to this, the Assam U16 team clinched the three-day match series 1-0 underscoring their dominance on foreign soil.
