Guwahati: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) will launch a mass outreach yatra from December 20 to directly engage citizens, stakeholders, and party workers across all regions of Assam.

The initiative is part of the ongoing people-centric campaign โ€˜Raijor Podulit Raijor Congressโ€™, aimed at building a people-driven manifesto through a structured, state-wide consultation process.

As part of the yatra, senior Indian National Congress leaders, supported by MLAs, MPs, and key party functionaries, will reach out to grassroots communities across the state.

The outreach will engage farmers, workers, students, small traders, entrepreneurs, women, intellectuals, social organisations, and community leaders to collectively chart a roadmap for a โ€œNew Assam.โ€

The consultations will be conducted through five parallel field teams, each assigned a geographically optimised route via buses to ensure comprehensive coverage across Upper Assam, Central Assam, Barak Valley, Bodoland, the Hill districts, and Lower Assam.

A total of five buses have been kept ready for the purpose.

A central coordination team at the headquarters will monitor and support field operations, with one full day earmarked per district and each team covering one district per day.

The campaign โ€˜Raijor Podulit Raijor Congressโ€™ was formally launched in Dibrugarh on December 6, marking the beginning of the partyโ€™s manifesto consultation process.

To ensure wider and inclusive participation, the APCC has launched a dedicated digital platform, www.natunaxom.com, enabling citizens to submit their views online. While introducing the website, APCC President Gaurav Gogoi said:

โ€œAs a first step, we are seeking guidance and suggestions on Assamโ€™s higher education system, which is closely linked to human resource development. My interactions with students from colleges and universities across Assam show that significant work is still needed to improve quality, strengthen research and innovation, and empower students to become self-reliant.โ€

In parallel, the party has begun installing โ€œAspiration Boxesโ€ across districts in a phased manner since December 6. Over 4,000 boxes are targeted to be placed at high-footfall locations such as marketplaces, tea garden lines, near tea stalls, bus stops, and other public areas.

Appealing for public participation, APCC President Gaurav Gogoi called on the people of Assam to become partners in shaping the stateโ€™s future.

โ€œWe envision a state where the aspirations of not one section, but of all people are reflected. As meeting every person physically is not feasible in a digital era, this platform allows us to connect with everyone. We want to listen to farmers, workers, students, small shopkeepers, entrepreneurs, women, intellectuals, and social organisations across Assam, and collectively use their experiences to design a roadmap for a new Assam,โ€ he said.
