Guwahati: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has issued a show cause notice to Golapara West MLA, Abdur Rashid Mandal, citing alleged engagement in anti-party activities.
The official order, released on Sunday, accuses Mandal of deliberately influencing district, block, and mandal-level party organizations and undermining Congress candidate Rakibul Hussain for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The notice, addressed to Mandal by the Congress, stated that such actions are not only detrimental to the party’s interests but also violate principles of party discipline and integrity.
Mandal has been requested to respond to the show cause by April 29 (Monday), explaining why disciplinary action should not be taken against him for his alleged anti-party activities.
The notice also warns of strong disciplinary action should Mandal fail to provide a satisfactory explanation or persist in such activities.
