Bajali: Concerns are growing over food hygiene, quality, and pricing at several restaurants in Assamโs Pathsala, a major stopover for travellers and commuters.
Many visitors who stop for meals while passing through the area have reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of food being served. Customers allege that some restaurants are charging high prices while providing poor-quality food.
Although certain restaurant owners have cited rising costs of essential commodities and commercial LPG cylinders as reasons for increasing menu prices, consumers argue that the quality and quantity of food do not justify the rates being charged.
There have also been calls for the administration to verify whether restaurants are using commercial LPG cylinders as required and to inspect the quality of cooking oil, spices, and other ingredients being used.
Concerns over cleanliness and hygiene standards have further added to public dissatisfaction.
The issue has sparked demands for regular inspections by the Food Safety Department and other concerned authorities.
Travellers have urged officials to ensure that food quality, hygiene, and pricing standards are properly monitored and enforced.
With Pathsala serving as a key transit point for travellers and commuters, consumers have called for regular inspections and stricter enforcement of food safety and pricing regulations.
