Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday morning visited historical Khatara Satra at Dipila under Sipajhar Assembly constituency in Darrang district.

He was scheduled to attend the open session of the third and final day of the on-going three-day celebration of its 450 years foundation on Sunday.

However to avoid public gathering he visited the Satra well ahead of time at around 9-45 am.

He had offered prayer there and left the place within a very span of time.

He also abstained himself from talking to local media for which a tight security arrangement was made in presence of superintendent of police of Darrang, Amrit Bhuyan himself.

In view of the visit of the chief minister to the Satra, the entry of general visitors and devotees to the main Satra premises was restricted in the morning hours.

Santanu Bharali, his legal advisor also accompanied him in his short visit.
