Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday visited the Mother Old Age Home in Guwahati and interacted with the elderly inmates there.
During his brief interaction with the inmates, Sonowal spoke regarding COVID-19 pandemic and explained to them the importance of maintaining social distancing.
He also sought their blessings and asked to pray so that a quick remedy of the disease is found out and the world is freed from the clutches of coronavirus.
In a tweet, Sonowal said, “In compassion and respect ~ we are always with the elderly and those deprived of care and companionship. Visited Mother Old Age Home at Hatigaon & sought blessings from the elders living there. Their strength & determination has given me new hope and inspiration.”
