Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in a meeting with heads of various prominent educational institutions of Dibrugarh town on Friday, made suggestions to improve the academic environment of the schools.
During the discussion, Sonowal urged the teachers to minutely observe the actions of the students for suitable intervention to groom their personality. He said the heads of the educational institutions should strive hard to promote quality education in their respective schools.
Stating classroom teaching inadequate to develop students as good human beings, he emphasized to orient them with moral values to dispel superstition and negativity.
The Chief Minister further suggested two hour sports activity every day in schools to encourage students to take up sports as an integral part of their lives. He also stressed on maintaining cleanliness in the schools and advised the heads of the institutions to meet for exchanging good practices and innovative ideas.
MLA Rituparna Baruah, officials of the district administration and education department as well as heads of several government and private schools were present in the discussion.
