In a move to acknowledge the generosity and responsibility shown by people in donating plasma, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal felicitated the plasma donors at a function held at Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati on Saturday.
The programme organised by the Lions Club of Gauhati Greater was held in appreciation of the convalescent plasma donors who donated plasma during COVID-19 pandemic.
As many as 100 plasma donors were felicitated today.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sonowal while thanking the plasma donors termed their action as the true form of humanity.
He said that their actions not only helped in saving precious lives but also radiating a new ray of hope in society.
He said that the donations rendered by the plasma donors will have an indelible impact in the society.
Sonowal said that at a time when the entire society is going through an unprecedented situation because of the coronavirus infection, the plasma donors gave a way for fighting against the virus.
He also expressed his gratitude to the donors for leading a fight back against the virus which is essentially shown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sonowal also thanked the Lions Club and the plasma donors and requested them to continue their humanitarian works as the State government would always help them in their endeavour.
On the occasion, two recipients of plasma also expressed their gratitude to the donors.
Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Hrishikesh Goswami and host of other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
