Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal congratulated Amitabh Bachchan

Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday joined the nation in extending birthday wishes to veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan on his 77th birthday.

The chief minister praised the legendary actor for his remarkable career in cinema for more than 50 years in addition to wishing that he continue to mesmerize his fans as he had done so over the years.

In a glorious career spanning 50 years, @SrBachchan Ji’s contribution to Indian cinema is unparalleled. On his birthday, I join the nation in praying for his good health and may he continue to enthrall us for years to come.’

Moreover, Anand Purohit Motion Pictures, the production house of Bachchan’s upcoming film Chehre, on Tuesday extended a fitting tribute to the actor by releasing a YouTube video comprising of a compilation of 50 prominent characters played by the actor through his career in cinema.

The actor who was recently selected for the Dada Saheb Phalke Award for the year 2018 felt that his birthday is just like any other day for him and is not in a mood of celebration.

He told the media that he feels grateful that he is still healthy and is able to keep working with a positive spirit.

He also said that his father Harivanshrai Bachchan used to recite poems for him during his birthdays in childhood which became a kind of family tradition.

The actor had earlier this year contributed Rs 51 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
