Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal extended a heartfelt tribute to legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar on her 90th birthday on Saturday.
Referring to a few lines of the melodious song โGodavari Noireโ sung by Mangeshkar, Sonowal praised the โQueen of Melody โby stating that her love for Assam is described beautifully through her songs.

Born on September 28, 1929, Mangeshkar has been enthralling audiences over the years with her sweet voice and evergreen songs.
Mangeshkar recently mentioned that โAparupa Aparupaโ was her favourite Assamese song.
She revealed it while extending birthday wishes to eminent singer Bhupen Hazarika on September 8 earlier this year.
