The class 10 and 12 state board examinations in Assam may get cancelled.
According to unconfirmed reports, the Assam Health Department has advised the State Government against holding the examinations amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Reports suggests that the class 10 and 12 results will be declared by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) respectively, based on the evaluation model of the CBSE.
Notably on Monday, a section of students of class 10 and 12 in Assam had moved the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of board examinations.

Relief was sought through an application seeking intervention and direction in the writ petition filed earlier before the Supreme Court for cancellation of state board examinations.
The applicants have argued that to ensure safety of physical as well as mental health of the students and to secure equality among the students of various boards, it is just, reasonable and equitable that the State board exams in Assam are cancelled.
Earlier, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had said that the State Government is committed to hold the board exams of class 10 and 12 in the State.
