Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi wished the people of Assam on the auspicious occasion of Christmas.
In his message to the people, the Governor stated, “I convey my warm greetings and best wishes to the people belonging to Christianity in particular and others in general on the occasion of Christmas”.

The Governor also said that Jesus was born at a time when ignorance, superstition, greed, hatred and hypocrisy prevailed upon the land.
Purity was forgotten and morality was neglected.
“So, on the day of Christmas which is a celebration of birthday of Jesus Christ, let us all rededicate ourselves to the teachings of Lord Jesus for strengthening universal brotherhood, love, compassion and harmonious co-existence”, the Governor added.

Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, wished the people through Twitter.
Sonowal tweeted: ‘Wishing everyone a #MerryChristmas. Let the blessings of the Lord bring joy, harmony, and prosperity to all.‘
Assam industries and commerce minister Chandra Mohan Patowary has also extended warm and joyous greetings to the people of Assam on the occasion of Christmas.
In a statement, the minister said, “Christmas is a celebration of human values that promote generosity and kindness towards fellow beings.”
“I hope Christmas inspires us to work together for the betterment of our society and instill the spirit of love and brotherhood among all of us,” he added.
