The long awaited blood bank at JSB Civil Hospital in Assam’s Chirang was inaugurated on Thursday.

This has added one more milestone in the history of medical sector in the district.

It was inaugurated by the joint director, Health Services Dr Ratul Chandra Bordoloi in the presence of other senior medical officials, doctors and paramedics.

In his speech, he termed this establishment as one of the necessary achievements for the convenience of people those who come for treatment at the JSB Hospital.

It may be stated that earlier, during emergencies, the people of the district had to go to far away places such as Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar towns to get blood for the patients.

With the setting up of a new blood bank in the district civil hospital, all those problems are now resolved and the patients can now get easy access to blood from this blood bank.

On the first day, two people from district Health department had donated blood for encouraging the people.

Joint director Dr Bordoloi appealed to the people to come forward for blood donation and to encourage public participation in this noble cause.
