New faces are soon to be inducted against the vacant portfolios as a reshuffle of the Assam cabinet is likely to take place, sources said.
Sources informed that Moran MLA Chakradhar Gogoi, Mahmora MLA Jogen Mohan and Barkhetri MLA Narayan Deka are likely to be the new inductees.
“Moreover, education minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya may be replaced by Jagiroad MLA Pijush Hazarika,” sources added.
“Tinsukia MLA Sanjoy Kishan may become the new state labour minister,” sources reiterated.
The changes in the cabinet are likely to be announced on Saturday during the election for the post of Assam BJP president.
Sources informed that it is almost a certainty that the incumbent state BJP president Ranjit Kumar Dass is likely to be reappointed in the top position.
Dass’ term ended on December 16, 2019.
“Ranjit Kumar Dass is likely to be extended for another term as party president and we have gained under his leadership in Assam,” a senior BJP leader said.
