Udalguri: The Department of Agriculture, BTC, organised a knowledge dissemination workshop on โ€œClimate-Smart FPOs: Building Resilience in BTCโ€ at Adams Conference Hall in Assam’s Udalguri on Saturday.

The programme was held in alignment with the Government of Indiaโ€™s 10,000 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPO) promotion programme.

Speaking on the occasion, BTC Deputy Chief and EM, Agriculture, Rihon Daimari stressed the need for strong and well-managed FPOs to address climate-related challenges, improve market access, and promote sustainable, technology-driven agriculture in the BTC region.

He also formally launched the Climate-Smart FPO initiative for BTC.

CHD, Department of Agriculture, BTC, Phanindra Brahma explained various ongoing initiatives of the department aimed at strengthening FPOs and enhancing farmersโ€™ livelihoods across the council area.

A technical session led by SELCO Foundation introduced the FPO flagship programme and demonstrated models for integrating renewable energy solutions, climate-smart agricultural practices, and decentralised technologies into FPO operations.
