Assam’s Jigyashman Hazarika annexed double crown in the boys’ under-12 events of the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament.
The tournament concluded at the All Assam Tennis Association Complex, in Guwahati on Friday.

In the singles, Jigyashman was awarded a walkover against Manan Nath, who is also from Assam.
Manan could not play in the finals due to an injury sustained during the semi-finals on Thursday.
Jigyashman on Thursday won the doubles title along with Manan, defeating Dreek Saha of Maharashtra and partner Samarth Sahita of Bengal 6-3, 6-2 in the final.

Sohini Sanjay Mohanty of Odisha also won double crown by winning both the girls’ under-12 and 14 singles’ titles.
In the under-12 final, top seed Sohini beat sixth seed Snigdha Patibandla of Assam 6-3, 6-2.
In the under-14 event, Sohini, who was third seed, eased past unseeded giant killer from Bihar, Jyoti Pratap 6-0, 6-2, The Telegraph reports.
Sixth seed Manipur boy Bhicky Sagolshem shocked top seed Andy Thaosen of Assam 1-6, 7-6 (2), 6-1 for the under-14 boys’ singles title.
The qualifying rounds of the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament for boys’ and girls’ under-16 and under-18 events will be held at the same venue on Saturday.
