The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has postponed the Higher Secondary Final Examination due to prevailing Covid19 situation in the state.
The controller of examination of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, Pankaj Borthakur has issued a notification announcing the postponement of the examination.
The Higher Secondary Final Examination in Assam was scheduled to be held from May 11, 2021.

The notification of the council said: “It is for information of all concerned that due to prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation, the Higher Secretary Final Examination, 2021 scheduled to be held from 11/05/2021 has been postponed until further order.”

The AHSEC notification was shared by Assam education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Earlier on the day, the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) announced postponement of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination and Assam High Madrassa Examination 2021.
The order, issued by SEBA secretary Suranjana Senapati said the revised schedule would be announced by the board after a discussion with the state health department.
The SEBA order said: “In view of the prevailing situation of Covid-l9 in the State of Assam, it has been decided to postpone the HSLC/AHM Examination 2021, scheduled to be held from 11th May, 2021. The revised schedule of the said Examination shall be announced shortly after consultation with the Health Department, Govt. of Assam.”
Earlier on April 28, the Council had postponed the Higher Secondary First Year Final Examination 2021, scheduled to be held from May 4.
The examination, conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), was postponed in view of Covid19 situation in Assam.
The decision to postpone the Higher Secondary first year examination was taken during a meeting of the Council held on April 28, 2021, said a notification issued by the Council’s controller of examination Pankaj Borthakur.
The notification had said: “As per decision of the Council meeting held on April 28, 2021 this is for information of all concerned that due to prevailing COVID19 pandemic situation, the Higher Secondary First Year Final Examination, 2021 scheduled to be held from May 4, 2021 has been postponed until further order.”
