The Higher Secondary First Year Final Examination 2021, scheduled to be held from May 4, has been cancelled.

The examination, conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), has been postponed in view of Covid19 situation in Assam.

Higher Secondary First year exam

The decision to postpone the Higher Secondary first year examination was taken during a meeting of the Council held on April 28, 2021, said a notification issued on Wednesday by the Council’s controller of examination Pankaj Borthakur.

The notification said: “As per decision of the Council meeting held on April 28, 2021 this is for information of all concerned that due to prevailing COVID19 pandemic situation, the Higher Secondary First Year Final Examination, 2021 scheduled to be held from May 4, 2021 has been postponed until further order.”

The chairman of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, Dayananda Borgohain said the Council is yet to take any decision regarding the Higher Secondary Second Year Final Examination 2021.

He said the Council will sit for another meeting in the first week of May to take a decision regarding the HS Second Year (Class 12) final examination to be conducted by the Council.

The Higher Secondary Second Year (Class 12) Final Examination 2021 is scheduled to begin in Assam on May 11, 2021.

The Covid19 situation in Assam continues to remain grim.
