Foundation-cum-Flag Day of Bharat Scouts and Guides was celebrated in a befitting manner at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati on Thursday.

Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi hailed the role of the cubs and bulbuls in taking forward the mission of Bharat Scouts and Guides.

Addressing the contingents, Governor Prof Mukhi said that the mission of scouting is to contribute to the educational development of young minds by instilling a value system in them.

Bharat Scouts and Guides’ endeavour has been to help the youth to imbibe in them discipline so that a better world can be forged.

Scouting gives the youth a platform to understand each other and remove the differences of colour, caste, creed, religion and language.

Scouts and Guides is the embodiment of service, discipline and dedication which volunteers should imbibe to render their services for the cause of the society.

The Governor also said that Bharat Scouts and Guides is making immense contributions to empower the young minds of the society physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually to enable them to make visible changes in positive ways.

The Governor made a contribution to the Annual Flag Day Fund and wished the Scouts and Guides all success in their mission and appealed to all the Scouts and Guides to be good citizens and contribute towards nation building.

The Bharat Scouts and Guides is a voluntary and educational movement to shape and build the character of young people by inculcating values of self-discipline, social service and patriotism.
