The Special Scholarship Award Ceremony to award 100 meritorious girl students studying in engineering colleges and polytechnics under the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Assam will take place at Srimanta Shankardeva International Auditorium situated at Kalaskhetra in Guwahati on January 17 next at 11.00 am.
This flagship programme will be graced by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in the presence of State Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Minister of State for Education, Labour & Employment and Tea Tribes Welfare, Pallab Lochan Das, and a host of dignitaries.
It is worth mentioning that this is the first time that girl students studying in technical institutions are being awarded by the Government to attract and motivate girl students for pursuing higher studies in the technical fields.
The scholarship carries a cash award of Rs 30,000 only along with a citation.
