Along with train services launched by N F Railway, ASTC will also introduce regular bus services from Diburgarh to Dhemaji.

This bus service is bound to enhance road connectivity between the north and south banks thus reducing the tedious ferry ride by several hours.

Notably, the first ASTC bus will start its maiden journey from Golaghat to Jonai immediately after Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicates the Bogibeel Bridge to the nation which is scheduled to take place at around 2 pm on Tuesday.

Notably, the bus service was formally launched at Golaghat by noted writer Arun Goswami and senior journalist Rohit Gogoi on Tuesday morning.

ASTC authorities disclosed that regular bus services will continue from Tuesday on the route.

The introduction of the bus services between the two regions has naturally brought cheers and relief to the people on both the banks.

Till Tuesday, the only means of transport was the ferries and mechanized country boats.

Now commuters can travel between the two banks of the River Brahmaputra in a more convenient and safe mode of transport.
