The Employment Review Committee of Assam Assembly visited the NTPC Bongaigaon and examined the activities of the power station.
The 13-member team comprised six MLAs and top officials of the Assam government.

The MLAs who made a spot visit to NTPC Bongaigaon on Monday include Lawrence Islary and chairman of the committee; Rupak Sharma, Sibu Mishra, Suren Phukan, Prithvi Raj Rabha and Jayanta Basumatary.
They were accompanied by R.Bhattacharya, joint secretary of the Assam Legislative Assembly and other joint secretaries of various departments of Assam.

The Employment Review Committee during their visit reviewed the various activities of the power station in presence of the additional deputy commissioner of Kokrajhar, Prateek Gupta.
The MLAs visited the TG Hall, Control Room, Roof Top Solar Plant of NTPC Bongaigaon and gathered information on the mechanism of power plant generation and also the company’s initiatives towards renewables and sustainability.

The committee members expressed satisfaction at the work being carried out by the power station towards the local community and urged the NTPC Bongaigaon management to continue to work towards the development of the area keeping in mind the local needs and aspirations, said a statement.
Subrata Mandal, executive director of NTPC Bongaigaon, took the team to various areas of the plant along with T. Ravinder, GM (O&M), Umesh Singh, GM (FM and Maintenance) and other senior officials of the station.
A.K.Chawla, AGM (HR); AK.Datta, AGM (TS); VK Sharma, AGM (MM); D.Kar, AGM (EMD), Shashi Shekhar, AGM(HR), A M Chaudhury, AGM (C&I) also accompanied the team during the visit.
NTPC was a part of the visit of the team, who will be reviewing various organisations of both private and public sector of Kokrajhar, Chirang and Bongaigaon during their ongoing visit on September 13-14, the statement said.
