All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday tried to touch the sentiments of homemakers while garnering public support to bring the party to power in Assam.

Priyanka emphasized that Congress is the only party to acknowledge the toil of the homemakers by including them in the party’s Five Guarantees campaign.

The AICC general secretary was in the Batadroba constituency in Nagaon district to address an election rally on behalf of Congress candidate Sibamoni Bora ahead of the Assam Assembly elections.

“The homemakers contribute a lot to the society, but neither the BJP nor any other party have recognized their hard toil and contribution. They take care of their homes and families all day long without expecting anything in return,” said Priyanka.

“Congress is the only party that recognizes their sacrifice and therefore, has guaranteed a financial support of Rs 2000 per month to all homemakers in Assam. This money will get directly credited to their accounts,” she said.

Priyanka also said that the BJP joins hands with anyone who can support their selfish motives.

“In Assam BJP joined hands with AGP and in the process turned an elephant into a scared cat,” she said.
