The first phase of the polls is scheduled for March 27.

“This gives a clear indication that it is politically motivated and voters are being sought to enticed through such an order. Canvassing of the BJP is also being done through the department in violation of the model code of conduct,” Congress said.

In the letter to all Zila Parishad CEOs, DRDA Project Directors and BDOs, an additional commissioner of P&RD said the sanction of PMAY-G houses from the existing Permanent Wait List (PWL) should have been completed before March 20, but “still there is a huge gap in targets allocated to the district and the number of houses actually sanctioned to beneficiaries.”
