Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is in Assam to campaign for the party for the third phase of Assam Assembly elections.
Rahul Gandhi, who could not reach Assam on Tuesday, due to bad weather, will campaign in the State on Wednesday.
Rahul Gandhi will address two rallies in Assam on Wednesday – at Pritipur Ground in Chaygaon, Kamrup (Rural) district and at Loharkatha Public Field in Nalbari.
Rahul Gandhi also paid a visit to the Kamakhya Temple atop the Nilachal Hills in Guwahati on Wednesday morning.
Senior Assam Congress leaders, including State party chief Ripun Bora accompanied Rahul Gandhi during his visit to the Kamakhya Temple.
AICC General Secretary and in-charge of Assam Congress Jitendra Singh Alwar also accompanied Rahul Gandhi to the Kamakhya Temple.
Rahul Gandhi offered prayers and sought blessings from Goddess Kamakhya. He also interacted with the priests and other staff of the Kamakhya Temple.

Late on Tuesday evening, after reaching Assam, Rahul Gandhi was given a representation regarding the problems and aspirations of the Tiwa Community in Assam.
On Wednesday morning Rahul Gandhi also interacted with the members of the social media team of the Assam Congress.
Earlier on Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi had alleged that the BJP of ‘attacking’ Assam by planning to scrap Article 254-A.
Rahul Gandhi said that contrary to the BJP’s plan, the Congress party in Assam stands firm that the Article 254-A remains implemented.
The Article states that if a state law has been enacted on a subject in the concurrent list and it contains provisions repugnant to the provisions of a central law, then with respect to that particular matter, the state law will prevail in the concerned state.
Rahul Gandhi made this allegation in regards to the Congress’ ‘guarantee’ of introducing a law in Assam, which would nullify the implementation of CAA.
Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi further said that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is an ‘attack’ on the culture and history of Assam.
