The Congress in Assam took out its ‘Axom Basaon Ahok’ Yatra from Silchar town in Barak Valley.

Addressing the massive crowd in Silchar town, Sushmita Dev said that its time to save Assam from “syndicate raj, unemployment and divisive politics”.

On the other hand, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader in Assam, Debabrata Saikia started the third day of ‘Axom Basaon Ahok’ yatra by offering prayers at the Mounglang Khamti Monastery at Ledo in Margherita.

“Paid homage to the monks and sought their blessings,” Debabrata Saikia said.

Meanwhile, a sea of people turned up for the for an election campaign rally at Nowboicha Assembly constituency on Tuesday evening.

The rally was addressed by Lok Sabha MP Pradyut Bordoloi, National Secretary of Congress Bhupen Kumar Bora and senior Congress leader Ranee Narah.

Pradyut Bordoloi also interacted with the locals while visiting the Ahom Namghar in Rangpur Betoni village.

“While on our 3rd leg of the ‘Axom Basaon Ahok’ yatra, made a stop at the Ahom Namghar in Rangpur Betoni village and offered prayers. Interacted with the locals and also participated in our traditional rituals and our Mishing Tribe Ali aye Iigang Spring festival,” Pradyut Bordoloi said.

A nearly depleted Congress two months back, seems to have got its act together just ahead of the Assam Assembly Elections.
