The BJP is set to release its manifesto for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections on March 23 (Tuesday). 

The BJP’s manifesto would be released by the party’s national president JP Nadda. 

The manifesto of the saffron party would be released in Guwahati. 

JP Nadda will reach Assam on Monday and will hold rallies in Dibrugarh, Jorhat and Biswanath Chariali. 

Elections to the 126-member Assam Legislative Assembly will be held in three-phases from March 27 to April 6. 

Results would be announced on May 2.

Earlier on Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah released BJP’s manifesto for the West Bengal Assembly elections. 

In its manifesto for the West Bengal elections, the BJP has promised to implement the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which has been vehemently opposed by various organisations in Assam and opposition parties including Congress. 

The manifesto, called ‘Sankalp Patra’, also promised that the refugees, who have been staying in West Bengal for the last 70 years, will be given Indian citizenship.
