Assam Congress has exuded confidence that the grand-old party is heading for a landslide victory in the Assam Assembly elections.

“Congress’ guarantees has stumped BJP on the Ground,” said senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Mallikarjun Kharge.

“With the first phase of polling underway in Assam, clear signs of a landslide victory are emerging,” Kharge added.

The Assam Congress has claimed that the party’s 5 guarantees are going to be ‘game-changer’ this Assembly elections in the State.

“The Congress has gone to the people with a vow of fulfilling its 5 Guarantees that are going to be a game-changer for the future of Assam and the Assamese people,” Mallikarjun Kharge asserted.

“We have received an overwhelming response from the people across all ages and geographies towards the vision and the willpower that we have presented through the 5 Guarantees,” added Kharge.

The Assam Congress further claimed that the BJP in the State has already “acceded defeat” in the Assam Assembly elections.

“Throughout the campaign the BJP has tried to run away from questions related to its performance in the last 5 years,” All India Congress Committee (AICC) spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh said.

“The BJP is so scared of being asked about the accomplished promises from the last 5 years that it has resorted to the incumbent CM has been missing from its core campaign,” claimed Assam Congress.

“The BJP is so worried about losing that ‘Gujarati Mama’ has admitted that the party doesn’t trust the face of Sarbananda Sonowal and they will rethink the CM face, if they win,” Assam Congress added.

Assam Congress further said, “After hurting the Assamese pride and identity by spreading disharmony that led to anti-CAA protests, the BJP has now resorted to demeaning the Assamese pride and identity again.”

The Assam Congress further accused the BJP and its alliance partners of misleading the people of the State by making false promises.

“As per news reports United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) – a BJP ally, has promised that surrendered cadres of militant organisations will be provided jobs in army and paramilitary forces according to their ranks. Since when can a State party promise jobs in in the Defense forces? It is again a desperate attempt to misguide people for votes. Why is the BJP silent on this?” Assam Congress questioned.

“The BJP has acceded defeat and is trying to save face. People’s strong support for Congress’ 5 Guarantees that are visionary, realistic and that deal with the core issues of Assam has forced the BJP to resort to desperate measures trying to hide its performance card and the headmaster too. Distorting facts and fooling people won’t help too. This election is about the Congress Guarantees vs BJP’s unfulfilled promises and the result is clear to the entire state- a landslide victory for Congress,” Assam Congress added.
