In the first phase of the Assam Assembly elections, 2, 65, 70 voters cast their ballots for the 95-Golaghat and 98-Khumtai assembly constituencies under Golaghat district.

There are 1, 37,555 male voters and 1,36,115 female voters. The total turnout in the district was 69.61 percent.

60.14% male voters and 69.08% female voters exercised their franchise in the district.

The turnout in Golaghat constituency was 8.02 percent. In Golaghat, a total of 1, 80,091 voters cast their votes.

A total of 6, 9962 (8%) male voters and 60,129 (6.04%) female voters cast their votes in the LAC.

Among those who cast their ballots, the number of female voters was more than the male voters.

In Khumtai, on the other hand, a total of 1, 15,569 voters (81.92) percent, cast their ballots.

A total of 5, 8593 (63.25%) male voters and a total of 5,897 (80.59%) female voters cast their votes.

The highest turnout was in Kurighariya Primary School, Khumtai, No. 142, at around 6 per cent.

Chandra Modi, Golaghat Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, thanked all the concerned staff and police personnel and all parties involved for conducting the election in a smooth and peaceful manner.

He also thanked the media for providing timely information on various elections to the voters.

There are a total of 3, 47,273 voters in the Golaghat district. The number of male voters is 1, 62,695 and the number of female voters is 1, 63, 38.
