After the end of the voting for the three-phased Assam Assembly election 2021, hot discussions are going on among political parties regarding the formation of the next government in the state.

As the poll-related surveys indicate no absolute majority to be earned by the BJP-led alliance and the Congress-led Grand Alliance, it is feared that incidents like horse-trading may take place in Assam.

In order to prevent possible horse-trading, the MLAs of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), led by Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, who are party candidates of the Assam Assembly election 2021, would be taken out of Assam in a chartered plane on Friday, sources said.

The AIUDF candidates will be kept in a hotel outside the state till the poll results, to be announced on May 2, 2021, sources added.

All arrangements have been made in the hotel so that the candidates don’t face any trouble.

Sources told Northeast Now that in this period till May 2, the AIUDF candidates will be provided separate mobile phones so that they cannot be contacted by others and the talks to be contained among party leaders.

Sources said while many of the candidates will be accompanied by their families, some other candidates will go alone.

Another source informed that a similar strategy may be adopted by the Congress leadership.

Such attempts have been initiated after reports indicate that the BJP-led alliance has less chances of winning an absolute majority in the results of the Assam Assembly election 2021.

The polling for the three-phased Assam Assembly election 2021 was held on March 27, April 1 and April 6.

The counting of votes will be conducted on May 2.
