Amid COVID19 pandemic and ahead of the BTC polls, Udalguri Police recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from a dense jungle of Deosani village along river Pagla in Mazbat area of the district.
Based on specific intelligence inputs, the Udalguri Police carried out an operation in the jungle of Deuchani village at about 2 am on Tuesday and recovered arms and ammunition.

The recovered items include 3 AK-56 rifles, 3 empty magazines and 20 rounds of live ammunition.
The items were buried in the ground.
According to sources, a team of police led by Udalguri additional superintendent of police, Bidyut Das Boro, assisted by deputy superintendent of police (HQ), Moidul Islam, launched the operation and successfully recovered the weapons.

In recent times, Udalguri Police recovered several such arms and ammunition from various parts of the district.
Earlier, on July 19, Udalguri Police recovered one 1 HK-33 rifle, 1 M-16 rifle, 1 AK-47 rifle and several rounds of ammunition from a village near river Laxmi under Harisinga police station in Udalguri.
