The Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of Indian Air Force’s Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal Amit Dev, visited Air Force Station Kumbhirgram in Assam’s Cachar district on Thursday.

Air Marshal Dev was presented a ceremonial guard of honour by the smartly turned out air warriors of the base on his arrival.

Air Marshal Amit Dev was received by the station commander of the Air Force Station Kumbhirgram, Group Captain GS Tung.

The Air Force station has a helicopter unit which is always on its toes to undertake numerous operational successfully and has been relentlessly contributing towards achieving the national goals.

For their consistent efforts, Air Marshal Dev handed over the unit crest to Wing Commander KS Negi, the commanding officer of the helicopter unit and appreciated the aircrew for undertaking all the operational missions and other assigned tasks in a professional manner.

The AOC-in-C inspected the Air Force station for its operational preparedness and appreciated the professionalism, motivation and performance of the personnel despite COVID19 limitations.

“He visited various units and sections of the station and appreciated the unflinching efforts put in despite its remote location,” the Guwahati-based defence PRO said in a press statement.
