Guwahati: The Raijor Dal on Wednesday initiated its election preparations by obtaining nomination documents for its MLA Akhil Gogoi from the Returning Officerโs office in Assam’s Sivasagar.
The step marks the official start of Gogoiโs campaign for the Sivasagar Assembly seat, with senior leaders from both the state and district units of the party attending the process.
Gogoi, the current representative of the constituency, has built a strong public image through his outspoken views on major issues and his continuous involvement in matters concerning peopleโs welfare and development across Assam.
According to party members, his regular interaction with local concerns and grassroots-level problems has helped him maintain solid support among voters in the region.
Raijor Dal leaders expressed strong belief that Gogoi is in a favourable position in Sivasagar, stating that he is unlikely to face tough competition. They also shared confidence about the partyโs overall performance, expecting good results in multiple constituencies in the upcoming polls.
Meanwhile, Gogoi is set to submit his nomination formally on March 20 (Friday), with party workers and supporters expected to be present during the filing process.
