The additional director general of police (ADGP), LR Bishnoi on Tuesday visited Kokrajhar to review the law and order and security arrangements for union home minister Amit Shah’s programme at Kokrajhar on January 24.

Shah to attend the grand public gathering at Green Field, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar to celebrate the 1st BTR Accord Day to be celebrated with a four-day event from January 24.

Talking to reporters, ADGP Bishnoi said he reviewed the security arrangements and law and order situation in Kokrajhar for peaceful celebration of the BTR Accord.

He said he had inspected the Green Field, the venue where union home minister Amit Shah will address the grand public meeting on January 24.

He said the celebration will be held in an area of 700 bighas of field where 3.5 lakh people can be accommodated.

The ADGP said for smooth running of programme, they created 21 sectors where each sector would be monitored by police officers under the IGP, BTC.

He also said over 2,000 security personnel will maintain the people’s movement in the venue and the police administration will ensure that there would be no protest programmes.

He further said the COVID19 protocol would be maintained in the large public gathering.

ADGP Bishnoi was also accompanied by IGP, BTC Anurag Agarwal and Kokrajhar SP Rakesh Roushan in the visit of venue of grand public meeting.
